Elecampane is also traditionally used as a lung tonic and is regarded as having decongestant properties to clear bronchial mucous congestion in Western herbal medicine.
White horehound is traditionally known for its benefits for spasmodic, dry or unproductive coughs in Western herbal medicine.
Balloonflower is a herb that’s often used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) to ease symptoms of the common cold, including cough.
In Chinese medicine, Chinese licorice is often used alongside balloonflower in a traditional formulation known as ‘Jie Geng Tang’; both herbs are traditionally taken to support lung health, with balloonflower dispersing lung Qi (energy) to achieve this.
Chinese licorice is also traditionally used to relieve a dry, unproductive cough and to soothe mild bronchial irritation.
Fusion Cough Lung Tonic also contains thyme oil, plus the Chinese herbs pinellia, aster, stemona and houttuynia.
Recommended dosage:
- Adult dose: To relieve cough: Take 2 capsules three times a day, or as professionally prescribed.
